We Need Your Help!

Get Involved and Make a Difference!

The following is a list of programs that the PTA supports, but we need parent/family volunteers in order to provide these spirited, fun, and enriching programs. If you are interested, and would like more information, please complete the form below.

  • **Advocacy and Legislation ~ Keep tabs on what National and State PTA are doing in terms of advocacy and legislation, and report to the Association. Attend LBUSD Superintendent Parent Forum meetings and report to Association.

  • Arts Committee ~ Help chair coordinate art show, music activities, and PTA Reflections art program.

  • Book Fair ~ Work on committee to set up displays and help students select books at the Book Fair twice a year.

  • Beautification ~ Help to maintain the landscaping around the school: watering, weeding, trimming and some planting. No experience needed. Monthly.

  • Bulletin Board ~ Design and Update the PTA Bulletin Board.

  • Copy Center ~ Work in the copy center for PTA and teachers. Once a week.

  • Cub of the Month~ Coordinate supplies, create certificates, and distribute awards to teachers once a month.

  • Cubs Have Character ~ Help promote this character-building program and research inspiring ideas.

  • Emergency Preparedness ~ Maintain the Cubberley Emergency preparedness container and coordinate earthquakes bars for new students in the beginning of the school year.

  • Garden Box Program ~ Volunteers needed to help the chair with elementary classes. Help prepare lessons, assist in planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting. No experience needed.

  • Hall of Fame ~ Participate in the selection process of our 8th grade Hall of Fame inductees. Cubberley Middle School parents are not able to participate. Requires 3 evenings in April/May of meetings and student interviews as a committee. Very rewarding.

  • Honor Roll Luncheon ~ Plan, organize and set-up luncheon for middle school honor roll students (once a year)

  • Hospitality ~ Help out with staff luncheons and Teacher Appreciation activities.

  • **Literature Club for middle school ~ Help tally reading logs once a month. Most of the work can be done at home.

  • Lost and Found/ Uniform Exchange~ Keep the lost and found organized and help to return labeled items to students. Help to coordinate uniform exchange program.

  • Membership ~ Help with collecting and counting.

  • **Online Newsletter ~ Edit articles for our bi-weekly newsletter, the “Cubberley Connection On-line” (CCO). A computer is necessary for this position.

  • **Reading Rewards ~ Help keep track of your classroom reading logs and work with the committee chairs.

  • Red Ribbon ~ This is the annual "Say No to Drugs" awareness week. Coordinate activities during the week in October.

  • Restaurant Night (Dining for Dollars) Coordinator~ Coordinate fundraising opportunities with local restaurants. Once a month.

  • School Pictures ~ Assist photography vendors directing the students and keeping track of the schedule. Must be available at 8:15 a. m. on picture day.

  • Spirit Wear ~ Help the chair with the sale, organizing and delivery of spirit wear.
