The Scholastic “Enchanted Forest” Book Fair will be held Dec. 3-7, in the Cubberley library. Each student will have an opportunity to visit the fair with his or her class. A letter will be sent home this week that will include the Book Fair schedule, as well as each child’s classroom visit day and time.
The online fair,including an expanded list of titles, is going on now through Dec. 8, with free shipping to the school. Go to http://www.scholastic.com/bf/cubberley for more information on the fair and to shop online.
The Young Actors Theatre Workshop will present, Charles Dickens', "A Christmas Carol", on Friday, Dec. 7 and Saturday, Dec. 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the Cubberley auditorium.
On Tuesday, October 2, The LBC Hero Squad and Cubberley K-8 were recognized by Mayor Robert Garcia and 5th District Councilwoman Stacy Mungo for their efforts to support Autism Awareness, as well as kindness and understanding for all Cubs. Once a year (and only once a year!), Cubberley PTA asks for your support with a fundraiser, which will culminate in a schoolwide Read-a-Thon for students on Wednesday, Sept. 26.
A $40 donation per student ensures funding for the many enrichment programs and activities the PTA supports for students at every grade level, including visual arts, music and gardening and school spirit-building events. Every year, schools in the LBUSD have an opportunity to choose one special person to be recognized as a VIPS (Volunteers in Public Schools) of the year. Cubberley's selection this year is Jessica Dotts.

This year's Nominating Committee is pleased to present its recommendations for next year's PTA Board of Directors. The vote to approve this list of nominations will take place at the PTA General Meeting on Thursday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m.
